Dear Friend,
On Sunday, July 13, 2008, Daniel Kerth collapsed while jogging on West Causeway Approach and passed away of heart disease. He was 41. Danny was committed to four things during his life: his family, his community, his job, and Pelican Park.
Danny leaves behind his wife Rhonda and three young children: Zachary (12), Olivia (9) and Isabella (6). Danny touched so many people’s lives that many family and friends felt it important to do something to raise money for the Kerth Children’s college fund.
On Saturday, September 20th, 2008 “the friends of Danny Kerth” are holding a live and silent auction and dance to raise money for the Kerth Children’s college fund.
We are writing to you today to ask for the donation of any food item you wish to contribute. Our goal is to secure commitments from about 30 local restaurants to participate. If each restaurant offers five to six 13” x 19” pans of food we should have enough to feed the 600-700 people expected to attend. The event is being held at the Castine Center at Pelican Park.
We will have older teenagers and young adults serving the food; therefore, no service employees are needed. If you can provide signage or flyers, we will prominently display them and acknowledge your contribution throughout the evening of the event.
Of course, as with any item donated to charity, your donation is tax deductible. A 501(c) 3 trust has been set up for the Kerth Children in care of their mother Rhonda. Our tax Id number is xx-xxxxxxx.
I hope you will consider donating to this worthy cause. If you have any questions or need more information I can be reached any time at 985-373-0497. Thank you and God Bless.
Sincerely,
Friends of Danny Kerth
